Kagan Tours City
Published: Thursday, February 4, 2010 7:00 am Source: The Town CourierGaithersburg City Council Jud Ashman provided a private tour of Gaithersburg to Maryland Senate hopeful Cheryl Kagan of Rockville last month.
Kagan said the vehicle tour included stops in Kentlands, Lakelands, Quince Orchard Park and one of the city’s newest neighborhood, Parklands. Ashman said the tour lasted about two hours and they also visited Olde Towne and Washingtonian Woods.
Kagan is running for Maryland Senator Jennie Forehand’s District 17 seat and previously served in the House of Delegates for eight years from 1995 – 2003. According to a recent report by Maryland Politics Watch, Kagan is way ahead of Forehand when it comes to fundraising for the upcoming election.
On her Facebook page, Kagan mentioned the January 21 tour in a status posting, stating she “learned a lot about challenges and opportunities in the great city of Gaithersburg.” Kagan also said she looks “forward to continuing to reach out to residents and their leaders.”
For his part, Ashman said he has not officially decided who he is supporting in the upcoming state Senate race and added that he would offer the same tour of the city for other candidates running for state office. For more information about Kagan, visit her Web site at www.cherylkagan.org.
