Late last week, Cheryl Kagan gave us a heads-up that she planned to formally file her candidacy papers with the state elections board on Monday.
Little did she know, another Kagan would be making headlines the same day.
The ex-delegate and would-be senator posted a Facebook message Monday morning congratulating "my new-found ‘Cousin Elena' for her nomination to the Supreme Court!"
"Let's hope the confirmation process is thorough but completed in a respectful and timely manner," the post read.
Kagan the District 17 Senate candidate — no, the two aren't related — said Monday she'd fielded calls from around the county.
"People are calling and saying, ‘The state Senate and the Supreme Court! Of course you're the Energizer Bunny, but how are you doing it all?'" she said.
