Youth Slate announces endorsements

The Montgomery County Youth Slate announced its endorsements for the 2010 primary elections.

According to its official website and Facebook page, the group has endorsed Del. Karen Montgomery for State Senate and Eric Luedtke and Del. Anne Kaiser for the Maryland House of Delegates for District 14; Cheryl Kagan for State Senate and Del. Kumar Barve for the House of Delegates for District 17; and Del. Roger Manno for State Senate and Sam Arora, Bonnie Cullison and Del. Benjamin F. Kramer for the House of Delegates for District 19. All are Democrats.

The Montgomery County Youth Slate is a 33-member group of youth leaders from Montgomery County public schools. Led by Timothy Hwang, student member of the Board of Education, the youth slate evaluates and analyzes the decisions of elected officials, and works to generate interest and representation of youths in the political process.

Democratic Women's PAC endorses Forehand

The Democratic Women's PAC of Maryland has announced it is endorsing incumbent Jennie Forehand for the State Senate in District 17.

The announcement was made on both DWPAC's website June 23 and on a June 24 press release from Forehand's campaign.

Forehand is challenged by former District 17 House of Delegates member Cheryl Kagan (D).

District 17 includes Rockville, Gaithersburg and Garrett Park.

The Democratic Women's PAC of Maryland also has endorsed District 19 candidate Bonnie Cullison and District 14 Sen. Rona Kramer.

Kramer is challenged by Del. Karen Montgomery for the District 14 Senate seat and Cullison is one of a large field of candidates vying for a District 19 House seat.

Progressive Maryland endorses Zucker, Arora and Manno

Progressive Maryland announced its second round of endorsements July 1, giving the nod to House candidate Craig Zucker in District 14, Del. Roger Manno in the District 19 Senate race and candidate Sam Arora in the District 19 House race.

Progressive Maryland is a grassroots nonprofit organization that advocates for families through research, public education and direct political action.

Progressive Maryland already has endorsed candidates Karen Montgomery for Senate and Eric Luedtke and Anne Kaiser for the House in District 14 and Jay Hutchins and Bonnie Cullison for the House in District 19. It will be making another round of endorsements before the Sept. 14 primaries and another round before the general election.
